Taking it Easy

The shoe I grew up in were my classic Vans sneakers- low tops, no socks, original cream color. As I get older, I find myself often pulling inspiration from my old favorites. I love the ability to adventure and explore at any moment. I love feeling laid back- whether its sitting at the park or on the beach. I spotted this denim dress, and instantly loved the collar- an ode to my days in uniform shirts. I think its fun to play with nostalgia in your attire, the challenge is finding how it fits in 2015. As fall slowly approaches Los Angeles, I want to embrace my style with ease. Less makeup, natural hair, ready for the next big things coming my way. Its time to relax, enjoy the baby steps, cheer for my successes and not try so hard.

Penny Lane

Welcome to the 'Golden Coast'. From east to west, I'm a 20-something lady continuing to discover, scout + learn what sparks my curiosity / creativity. I want to take risks (not excluding my fashion choice) + chase after my dreams vehemently. Listen to The Doors, L.A. Woman now-
Summer in the city has been an epic ride. I find myself cruising down Sunset, with the windows down, listening to the rock music of another generation. The 70's are back in fashion- when I listen to Led Zeppelin or Chicago or Electric Light Orchestra, I can feel it. These clothes are rebellious, adventurous and effortlessly rad.
I love the silhouette of high waisted flared denim. I find it flattering compared to a tight skinny jean. I went into the danger zone by adding a chambray button down with my pant. Anything cropped accentuates the natural waist-line, and allows for a feminine form. During these hot summer days a light breezy white linen is a must piece for my closet. It adds a boho vibe, and helps me stay cool. Lastly find the perfect comfortable wedge for an everyday shoe. The added heel gives you the height, but the platform allows your feet to stay comfortable after hours of walking. These 70's looks embrace my busy lifestyle, but help remind myself to soak in the summer

Full Blossom

This was from my last shoot in Boston- it is quite surreal curating these photos in my bed back in California. I think insecurities naturally happen once you leave a place of comfort. I am starting to get picky about the way I look, and criticizing myself when I am not constantly thinking about my future goals.I need to remind myself not to strive for perfectionism, and not to forget to savor the journey it takes to reach my dreams. So stay calm, enjoy the summer months, and know that positivity is the best thing to put out there! I just graduated Boston University School of Theatre with a BFA in Acting. Now that is pretty rad might I say.
I love this dress. It is a vintage Ralph Lauren floral masterpiece. I scored it at the SOWA market in the South End, during one of my last weekends of in Boston. It is simple linen, pretty for the warmer weather coming ahead. This length is a rarity in my closet as well, transporting me to a time where modesty did heighten sex appeal. I feel beautiful when I wear this dress. So even though this was my last shoot in Boston (for now..) I can always put this dress on to ease my anxiety or my homesickness. It is on to the next chapter in Los Angeles.
Shout out to my fantastic + super sick photographer Lauren O'Neil. Cant wait for our future shoots whether it be on the East or WEST coast. Cheers to collaboration + friendship. Oddly this hyper-social media culture has its perks. I discovered a longtime artist + friend on instagram.

The Blue Coat

I like to reminisce about my time in London on gloomy days. This jacket instantly makes me feel put-together- it also makes me wish I had it in that beautiful city. While abroad I experimented with mixing men's wear concepts with high feminine details. A well fit trouser, a chunky boot, and a oversized jacket is a must for those cooler days. Now when I think of my personal style there are definitely elements inspired by men's wear. A daring silhouette always takes a look to the next level. I am addicted to this Essie polish Geranium as well. It is that perfect orange-red. I maybe not being going to Europe anytime soon, but its fun to dream (especially with the weather is blue).

A Brookline Story

My 'go-to' spring uniform always starts with a breezy dress and jean jacket. This is one of my favorite dresses (due to its seasonal versatility) but also its charming pattern. The cap sleeves and high neckline make the look feel preppy and polished. (Which I don't mind playing with every once in awhile). I am hoping the sunshine makes its way back to Boston. I am over this east coast gloom. I am day dreaming of warmer times in my neighborhood. Only a few more weeks left in my beautiful Brookline apartment, I need to appreciate the time I have.
