Modern Age Woman

Living in Southern California can often feel like a flash back to the mid 20th century. The architecture and landscaping of the 1950's has become iconic to Los Angeles, and creates that Hollywood classic feel. This post is a nod to the fashion of that time. When Jackie-O was the quintessential queen of style. Our grandmothers all attempted to perfect her tailored   Chanel suits and glamorous sunglass. They strived to find her poise and grace will juggling their children, and their jobs, and their households. I don't know how my Sicilian Grandmother did it. Hair always done, make up always on point.

For the current LA woman, we are busy babes. We are on constantly on the go. In our cars, running to work, to our fitness classes, to our auditions, to drinks with our girls. The role of the women in society is much different than the time of the 1950's house wife.
This is an outfit for the independent, powerful, confident lady but also recognizes the women  who came before.

I am loved with this structured pencil dress. I can be a major tomboy, but this dress makes me feel confident and bold. I love the cut-out, feminine, sexy and unexpected. I added an edge to this chic look with leather moto jacket. A delicate heel and statement pair of sunglasses finishes this look off. It is a modern-age ultra fem look. I wish I could dress like this more often, but its always a delight to play dress up for the day.

Topshop dress + vegan leather jacket, Quay Australia sunglasses, Steve Madden heels, Coach purse, Essie 'Fiji' nail polish, NUDESTIX 'Blush' lip pencil.
