Slip Into Cool

The fashion industry is always pulling inspiration from the past. Current raging trend that is here to stay- The slip dress. A classic look that is SO 90's but in ALL the right ways. We can thank the resurgence of Calvin Klein, supermodels and the undying popularity of Clueless
I styled my version with a basic boyfriend tee for some major nostalgic vibes.
I added some edge with a handmade velvet choker, and pointy suede boot. The nights are finally starting to get cold in LA, so I always bring my Topshop motto jacket. This street style approved trend is simple and effortless for that rebellious cool look. I scored this vintage slip recently at the Melrose Trading Post. It is always a little miracle when a vintage discovery fits perfect without alterations. I'm impressed by the versatility of this garment. I am stoked to pair with a chunky black turtle neck or a bold striped thermal. I have to admit I have been loving any variation on the LBD. This option, is sexy and punky without showing too much skin. Eat your heart out 90's babes, this trend is not dying down.
This look we shot on my oh-so-photogentic rooftop. It is my secret little hideaway in LA. Honestly, any a view with of palm trees and skyline makes my heart flutter. What places inspire your creative flow? When I write my external environments deeply become integrated in my text. Whether its a screenplay, or a style overview on my blog- the landscapes around me endlessly drive my inspiration. I have always been that kind of a person- someone who falls in love with places as if they were people. And currently I am in a long term relationship with this city of sunshine, concrete, and tacos.
