Red Supreme

Ok, so I found my new favorite pair of boots. And they aren't BLACK. (Seriously shocker for me). Lately, I have been challenging my styling choices through color. This week, I am going for a color that showed up on couture runway shows AND edgy street style. From Gucci's ready to wear, to Pantone's 'Aurora Red', this shade was out in about for this season.
My fiery red leather boots give me an instant surge of confidence + cool. This crimson red color is rich, sensual and vibrant- adding a big punch to a more understated look.
As you might know, I am deeply inspired by vintage style. So in my everyday, I am much more of a tomboy- levi's white t-shirt and converse. But this look, I found inspiration in the late 1950's styles of Sophia Loren. Sultry, dramatic and oh-so-Italian. She was the originator of owning your curves. I used black separates in order to create an updated 'peasant dress' look. I love the buttons and sync waist of this Fifth Label skirt. Also the silky smoothy texture of this Honey Punch top. It is ultra fem, and sparks my imagination for my upcoming trip to Rome. Who is a style icon that you pull inspiration from?

I think the quality of sexiness comes from within. It is something that is in you or it isn't and it really doesn't have much to do with breasts or thighs or the pout of your lips.”- Sophia Loren.
