Summer Times Feels with Forever 21

Hello babes! Sorry, I have been slow to updating East West Edge this week (due to acting work + travel prep). But I'm back before I jet off to Italy. It's the first day of summer, and in Southern California we're feeling it. This summer, I am all about playful prints and pops of yellow. I absolutely fell in love with this lemon print dress from Forever 21. Vintage inspired prints are big for summer 2017, and this dress is the perfect example. Paired with a mega trend basket bag, and chunky sunnies and you're ready for any summertime soirĂ©e.
The backdrop for this shoot was the Parker Palm Springs. Truly, my mid-century dream hideaway. You all know by now, that I am fascinated with architecture and how it influences style. This place takes over my imagination the moment I walk into the door. A blast from the past- from its poolside lemonade stand, funky Moroccan rugs, and rainbow color palette- it is a place like NO OTHER. During your visit make sure to eat at its darling patio restaurant Norma's. (Also make sure to get one of their signature mini pies for desert). I have yet to stay here overnight (its on my bucket list), but make sure to swing by on your next visit to PS.

Cacti Paradise with AG Jeans

By now, you know, I adore Palm Springs. I have shared my love for this desert town, here, but today I am featuring a must go spot for your next visit- Moorten Botanical Garden, a once hidden gem and still local favorite of Palm Springs. This family run garden, is beautifully curated with thousands of cacti + succulents from all over the world. Established in 1938, the botanical grounds have that distinct historical feeling that embodies PS. The owner Clark is an old school California cowboy type- his parents passed down the gardens to him. Go early in the morning before the sun is too high. If you stay at the Ace Hotel, it is an easy bike ride down the street. Take your time, and of course, explore the 'cactarium'. Every time I head to the desert, I make sure to make a pitstop at this classic PS place.

AG Jeans, kind of has my heart currently. This denim jumpsuit feels vintage and playful in this desert landscape. I love the feminine heart shaped neckline, and the wide leg hem. This look jumpstarts my summer mind set. Slowing down, soaking in the sunshine, and walking everywhere. Perfectly paired with some simple mules, chunky white sneaker, or thin strap sandals. I also would add a big straw, or just a cool pair of ray bans.

Easy Little Black Dress

Happy Monday, babes. I had a much deserved lazy Sunday. And now ready to jumpstart this week, with a little more energy. So today, I am keeping it simple, because the beginning of the week is already hard enough. I think, every girl has that easy black dress. It's a dress for those days when I have "nothing to wear". Or I don't feel 100% or I am overwhelmingly frazzled. I pull this Reformation dress, and it stream lines my morning. I adore the lace up detail, that adds just a touch of detail to this chiffon dress. The little black is a staple- and remember that's the point of having staple pieces in the first place. I don't have to overthink my look, and I can carry on with the rest of the day. Sometimes, I don't want my outfits to be complicated. Simplicity can lead to a more positive day.

Fashion Test Drive- Micro Embroidery

Embroidery has been BIG for awhile- Whether on a sleek bomber jacket, a pair of moto boots or some skinny jeans. I like the trend, but sometimes, it feels like brands over due this graphic stitch. They put embroidery pieces- just for trend's sake. That's why I adore Between Ten's version of the trend. Cheeky + cute- Micro Embroidery is more my style. This cactus tee adds a twist to the cool girl white tee. And of course, I paired it with a piece from AG Jeans. Everyone in LA is obsessed with cactus too, and I have never seen one embroidery so playfully on a tee.
Sometimes less is more sometimes. And with this trend, I think that's VERY true.

Ruffles and Stripes and Italian Daydreams.

Happy Monday darlings. The June gloom is in full effect in Los Angeles. The overcast weather, this morning, is causing me to daydream just a little more than normal. The countdown begins for my Italian getaway- and I am getting anxious to travel to one of my favorite places in the world. I have noticed that romanticism is influencing my style choices currently. I am head over heels in love with pinstripes, ruffles and straw hats. So even though I am still at home, maybe wardrobe can help me pretend my trip is just a little closer.
Talking about Italy- I am currently working on the finishing touches on our itinerary. We are headed to Rome, Lucca, Florence, Pisa and the Cinque Terre. If you have ANY suggestions- shoot me an email or comment below. My ideal travel situation is "pretending to be a local". I love seeing the quaint, and everyday (VS) the overly polished and tourist filled spots. It's my boyfriend and mine's first time going to Italy together- so some romantic ideas are always a plus. Thanks always for following along, and cannot wait to show you what I have planned for my trip x
