Old Hollywood History

"A young woman pass her things, and moves to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting." A tale that continues to shape this city year after year. I like to imagine I am apart of that history- honoring all the dreamers + hustlers who came before me. I love this city and how it hypnotizes people to take bold risks with their lives. It encourages creatives to not fear their deepest ambitions. And that is a rare place in a world full of NO's, CAN'Ts, and DON'Ts. People think LA is shallow, I think they need to dig a little deeper.
I find it terribly easy to romanticize the icons of the 1940's. The women effortlessly draped in old Hollywood glamour. A stillness and strength and drama to their presence. So, I tried it on for this shoot. That history and confidence. Through this dressing up, I discovered a new pride in my journey as an actress. I am apart of the history. Wherever my career leads me.
Fact- Katharine Hepburn is my favorite classic actress. My mother that inspiration behind my name comes from her. So in college around the time I turned 21- I started going by my full name Kathryn. (Instead of my nickname Katie) It was like stepping into adulthood, in some subtle way.
