Nautical Sausalito Stay with Casa Madrona

Tucked away on a hillside off the San Francisco bay, is the charming town of Sausalito. A romantic nautical escape with sweeping views of water and distant skyline. Over the past year, local California trips have brought much needed inspiration.
I had the pleasure of staying at Casa Madrona during my visit. My room was in a Victorian mansion, with the property dating back to the late 1800's. The history is felt the tall ceilings, beautiful molding and harbor facing balcony. Every detail of our room created a cozy and enchanting place to be. It was a typical gloomy day near the Pacific, so we spent the afternoon sipping hot toddies by our fireplace. After we enjoyed a seafood dinner at local spot Scoma's. Order the cioppino and a glass of rosé.
The following day, we drove over the Golden Gate to explore in the city. We visited the Legion of Honor, an inspiring Beaux-arts museum. Go if you want to feel transported to a faraway European city. I loved seeing the Rodin sculptures and dramatic architecture.
Northern California will always feel like home to me. And Sausalito captures the breathtaking natural beauty that this area has to offer.
